Beginning Sunday evening, Nov. 1st until we collapse sometime before midnight on Wednesday the 4th ~ we’re creating a party-like atmosphere here at No Longer Quivering and on the NLQ forums which includes fun & games ~ and even some cool prizes!

The NLQ chat room will be open round-the-clock and we’ll be posting new NLQ articles every few hours.

We’ll be setting up a “Carnival Midway” on the NLQ forums which will be open to all visitors ~ no need to register.  On the “Midway” visitors will find carnival booths with games and activities ~ plus plenty of excellent company!

NLQ Carnival Days will be a fun way of supporting and promoting No Longer Quivering ~ we’re asking for your help to make it happen. ‹(ô¿ô)›

Would you please consider some of the following suggestions for ways that you can participate in making the NLQ Carnival Days a success?

1) Think about writing a brief (300 words or less) contribution.

I’d like to have a cache of about 20 – 30 short posts so that we can have a new post every few hours during the carnival to keep up the traffic and interest.

One source for article ideas would be to look at the current NLQ categories (Hot Topics, There Is No “You” in Qivering, What It’s All About, Kobayashi Maru ~ The No-Win Scenario) to see if you might be inspired to write a short item to add to those categories.

2) Please consider assisting with a “carnival booth” on the forum “Carnival Midway.”

Since the goal of the carnival is to promote awareness of the NLQ blog ~ we could have a “Kissing booth” ~ that thread would include sample text for a link exchange request or a request to add an NLQ button to a related website. To play, carnival-goers contact their favorite NLQ-related website or blog and request that they add a link or badge. (NLQ will give a reciprocal link in a blogroll which I’m setting up on the website.) Everyone who is successful in getting a link placed for NLQ is entered into a drawing for a prize.

That’s just one example of how the “Midway” will work. Other possibilities include: a “tag” game in which players “tag” their favorite NLQ post by submitting it to one of the “socialize” sites such as StumbleUpon or Buzz; a just-for-fun NLQ-related scavenger hunt; a no-longer-eating-crappy-pizza-club challenge in which participants post their ideas for cutting back on a “luxury” item (such as SargassoSea’s crappy pizza example) in order to free up a few dollars to become an NLQ sponsor and join the NLECP Club; a fortune-telling booth in which players make predictions for what might happen in upcoming installments of the NLQ stories (I predict that Tapati’s first born is a little girl) ~ these are just a few suggestions ~  the possibilities are endless.

3) Would you be able to donate a prize for the various contests?

It needn’t be anything extravagant.  We already have an offer for a “gently-used” NLQ-related book, other ideas might include a homemade craft item or offer of service such as a free hour of graphic design, etc.

Since the NLQ carnival is scheduled to start next Sunday evening ~ there’s not much time for preparation ~ if I don’t get it done now, I’m going to be super busy with the WE TV documentary promotion and so wouldn’t be able to get to it until late December.  While it might be nice to have more time to prepare, I have found that work expands in proportion to the time available to get it done, so decided to just go for it and get as much together as possible.  The plan is to have FUN ~ so if some things are not perfect, that’ll be okay ;)

Can you help?  If so, please send me a note as quick as you can.

Looking forward to 3+ great days of awesome NLQ community!
