Well, I’ve been busy doing all the tweaking that I have wanted to do to the NLQ blog now that it is switched over to its own domain: http://nolongerquivering.com ~ and I have to say that I’m really quite pleased with myself.
I added an application which allows all the NLQ stories to be grouped as a series ~ so that navigation is much easier. Now readers can follow stories such as Tapati’s “Patriarchy Across Cultures” by clicking the series title under the “NLQ Stories” link on the right sidebar ~ and all of her posts will be displayed in order. Pretty cool, huh?
PLUS ~ when readers are done with one installment, there is a navigation bar at the bottom of the post with arrows to go to the previous or next entry in the series. How awesome is that?

Can you tell I’m excited?
Other nifty new features include:
A sign-up form to receive NLQ updates in via email (if you are a forum member, don’t worry about subscribing because if you do, you’ll get duplicate emails since I use the “email all members” feature on the forum) ~ this is an easy way for NLQ visitors to keep updated and stay in contact.
“New on NLQ” ~ a scrolling text announcement to keep readers updated on the latest NLQ stuff.
“Counting down the days to NLQ fame as ‘Quiverfull’ documentary airs on WE TV” ~ just for fun. Currently, we have 60 days to go ’til the “Secret Lives of Women” episode airs on December 1. I will be guest-blogging on the WE TV website starting in about a month.
An NLQ poll ~ “Do you personally know of a man who became a better husband as a result of his wife’s submissive behavior?” ~ be sure to cast your vote if you haven’t already.
There’s also a Site Meter counter which shows the # of visitors to NLQ since the blog started on March 7 of this year. This does not count NLQ forum visits ~ between the blog and forum, NLQ is currently getting about 70,000 hits per month. Impressive, eh?
I added an Alexa webpage rank just “FYI” ~ it’s interesting to know where NLQ stands. Right now there are close to 8 million websites getting more traffic than No Longer Quivering ~ the encouraging thing is that just a few days ago, there were over 11 million ~ so, that shows improvement. Yippee.

Like the sweet little “Twitter bird” graphic that I found to encourage readers to “follow me on Twitter”? BTW ~ are you following NoQuivering on Twitter? Have you joined NLQ on Facebook? Please take a minute to do that right now.
I had added a post rating system to allow visitors to rate articles from 1 – 10 stars ~ a nice little immediate feedback feature. But the application was too complicated and didn’t allow many options to prevent abuse ~ so I’m looking for a more user-friendly rating system.

At the bottom of each post is a “socialize” feature which allows readers to share the post on a number of social networks such as Facebook, Stumbleupon, etc. PLEASE ~ make a habit of sharing your favorite NLQ posts ~ this is a simple way to introduce others to the No Longer Quivering message. With your help, it’s possible to get NLQ’s website ranking into the top 1 million at least.
The website footer now displays “NLQ’s YouTube Playlist” ~ if you have recommendations for an NLQ-related video to be added to the list, please post it here.
I’m sure you’ve all noticed the rotating header pics at the top of the website ~ special thanks goes to Lorena for setting that up.
Oh ~ I added the “lady in red heart” favicon (look up ~ to the left of your browser’s URL address bar ~ see the red heart-shaped graphic?) ~ if you magnify the picture, here’s what you’ll see:

Like it? I couldn’t think of anything better ~ and the red does show up pretty well ~ so, that’s the pic I decided to use. If you have a suggestion for something more appropriate (make sure it’s bold, please), send me a link to the photo and I’ll consider making an NLQ favicon of it.
Okay ~ I think that’s it … let me know how you like it (please do tell me you like it
) and if there’s a particular feature which you think should be included on the NLQ website, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
